      No... thats not it.. ali and floyd werent humble. THE REAL LESSON IS: NEVER PLAY TO YOUR OPPONENTS ADVANTAGE.. EVER!

      JRLM those guys may not have been humble but they respected their opponents. she didnt.

      JRLM Don't ever compare her with Ali, Floyd or any other great fighter. She came out thinking she was unstoppable.

    • @Azdude801
      @Azdude801 8 лет назад +14

      Jonathan Ramirez Thanks for a that long boring comment. All I'm saying is she needs to stay humble. What happened at her latest weight in. She couldn't even stay for the interview.

      Jonathan Ramirez you can't compare her with Ali because Ali changed culture not just boxing what has Ronda done apart from bullying her opponents?

      This comment is dumb. Most of that audience didn't understand MMA either, of course Ellen needed to ask basic questions so that Ronda could explain it for everyone.

    You know, Rhonda's ego was so out of control and she thought herself unbeatable. She had no respect for anyone and trashed all of her opponents. She deserved to get knocked out and brought down to earth.

    • @Doyamn

      +Its Secret I get that. But Rhonda took it to a level where she didn't think anyone could beat her. She didn't respect holly and it got her knocked out. Her ego is what made her lose...

    Ronda when she wins "I'm the greatest fighter of all time, I can beat anybody with one arm behind my back"
    Ronda when she loses "What am I, if not this? I want to kill myself"

      +Krisb BeatS Good point. Clearly her priorities in life are messed up.

    • @OldSkoolBoxingg
      @OldSkoolBoxingg 8 лет назад +6

      +Krisb BeatS That's not the case... The problem is Ronda had this false sense of security... She thought legit she was a bad ass striker who can easily go to boxing and win world titles. Her trainer built this false sense of confidence, when really they should have focused on wrestling and better take downs with her Judo game... Also Ronda never throws ANY type of kicks.
      So when Holly completely destroyed her, she was surprised. It was like a reality check and I guess she wasn't ready for that because for so long she was destroying everyone and Edmond told her she's a monster.

      it's a state of mind. Bruce Lee once said that no-one is truly defeated until they accept defeat. She may have lost this fight but she still continues to fight and not give up making her not really beaten, because she still has the will to press on. She will continue to improve and she will learn from her mistakes, that is what it means to never be defeated.

    I think the fight with Holly did some real emotional damage to her as well as physical. She seems like a pretty wounded bird here all these months later. All the cockiness is gone and been replaced with humility. If nothing else the fight made her a better human being but to consider suicide because she lost one fight is ridiculous.That one loss did not wipe out the rest of her career and her achievements in her sport. Every fighter loses fights. Some of them lose fights in their prime and all of them will lose eventually if they stick around too long.

      It's actually the opposite. She thinks everyone's against her. She can't even look at Ellen in the eye when she gives her a compliment for being vulnerable. She doesnt know how to deal with this emotions. Being at the top means everyone is forced to love her. Then losing as bad as she did, is it a surprise that she felt worthless? Her worth came from fame, it gave her belonging. Watch her interviews, it's a consistent theme of her being on the defense, always sharing her frustration that someone or everyone is against her. It's sad.

Ronda essentially made $62,500 per second of the 48 second fight. Honestly, the way she fought, I don't think she wanted to win more than she wanted the money. You would think she'd hire a boxing coach or something after Holmes. Nunes hired one. It paid off for her.

      +Gary Payton You do not need a god in your life to have meaning, if you want true meaning in your life try making someone else's life meaningful. Your life has more meaning once you stop believing in that nonsense because you have things to actually live for like your family and friends, your life is just an empty shell trying to get ready for death, or the "afterlife" if you believe in a god.

      "a bunch of nobodies"? If everyone went on to commiserate her would you say " I love how a bunch of nobodies are telling Ronda it's okay". Ronda brought all of this on herself. Being confident is fine but when you go on to mock your opponents and spew a bunch on negativity about them on Instagram, life itself will show you you're a human just like everyone else who can be beaten like everyone else. Everybody experiences victories and defeats but Ronda is receiving this backlash because of how Ronda conducted herself after each of those experiences. She needed this, not even Floyd was as cocky as her. She showed no respect in victory so she gets none in defeat.

      Yes, people that get KO's can be getting lucky too (not to diminish Holly's skill - fan of hers too) by catching people (for whatever reason) in a awkward defensive moment instead of a more proper offensive thinking moment. That's just how it seems to happen often, seems to me.

      @@JLTalsma I think in this case it was a matter of strategy. Holly knew ronda is a killer when it comes to grappling. So she decided to maintain a striking fight where Holly had the upper hand. And there is nothing you can do to a striker who doesn't let the fight go to the ground. Believe me after many years practising martial arts I've come to that conclusion. I practised kick boxing for the most part plus grappling. But grappling was like 1/3 of my training. So, I never went to the ground with a judoka or a BJJ fighter, always keeping my distance and striking hard. Here I am, no losses, countless fights.

A homeless man who finds a simple flat to live in will consider it like a palace whereas a millionaire who loses his money and finds himself living in the same simple flat would most likely be very miserable. It's all relative, all in our minds. She does have it good materially but she set great store by her image as a great champion and the respect and adulation as an exceptional athlete. I hope she learns from the experience in a beneficial way for herself and others. And I hope you find happiness too :)

    People are pathetic. I never saw a single negative comment about her before she lost - everyone praised her like she was heaven sent. So no wonder she got a big head: she was undefeated, she had the world on her side, and then she loses. Not an easy thing to face the world who ( like in this comment section ) are bound to spit in her face like she never won at all. Being suicidal after that, after having who you are, "the champion," ripped from you - is not at all surprising. But she has had an amazing career and deserves to settle down if that's what she wants.

      ***** nope, youre the noob mate, recent fights before the holly holm fight ronda knocked out Bethe Correia with punches and she became confidant in her punching power, big mistake when fighting a fighter who is known for striking via kickboxing, instead of trying to go for take downs she remained on her feet, the only lunge she made was an attempted elbow or fist she did in which was an instant fail cos holly ducked that shit, even her coach was telling her remain standing and box with her youre doing good blah blah which was total bullshit but she followed the game plan and paid dearly for it, like i said every fighter is gifted with having the best ability only in a specific area of fighting whether be wrestling, striking etc. once you have a go out of your comfort zone to learn n master a fighting style other than the one youre already a master at be aware that a few victories wont necessarily mean your the best, cos someone whos expertise in that fighting style is gonna come around the corner n show you how its done. just like frank mir who is known for his ground game jujitsu and a master of it, until he knocked out duffy by striking, believed he had the punching power and his next fight thought well, i believe i kick ass when i stand and trade, my boxing skills have improved hmmm il do it on my next fight now that im confidant in the striking area, and then he faced mark hunt who is expert in the striking area and you know how the rest goes..
